Solar controllers
The solar controller is the component that decides if and when the pump should be on. In some cases it decides what speed the pump should be operating at. Choosing the correct controller is important as it can help increase the efficiency of your system. To see how, read the differences below.
We have 2 options when it comes to solar controllers.

Advanced solar controller - We recommend this controller to all our customers as it has the ability to slow the pump speed when there is less heat available in the solar panel. This makes it very suitable to Irish conditions as we get a lot of cloud cover. When there is cloud cover, the pump automatically slows and the water passes through the panel slower, thus giving it more time to absorb the heat from within the panel. This increases the efficiency of the entire system. Maximum cylinder temperature and frost function are standard on this controller. There is a backlit LCD display which displays the temperature of the solar panel and the top and bottom of your cylinder as well as other useful technical information about the solar system.
